Wonksknow privacy policy

The following privacy policy applies to information, including personal data, collected at www.youngwonks.com,www.ProWonks.com, www.vinterveiw.us, the EdOptim™ product, or other Wonksknow websites, and data collected through the provision of Wonksknow products or services including at in-person events and the use of our online services which are part of the in-person and online computer-science and electronics programs (the “YoungWonks Program” and “ProWonks Program”) (collectively, the "Services"). Because Wonksknow gathers certain types of information about the users of the Services, we believe you should fully understand the terms and conditions surrounding the use of the information we collect. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for the Services. If you are using any of the Services through an educational or other institution that is a customer of Wonksknow, this privacy policy does not supersede the terms of any agreements between Wonksknow and any other party, nor does it affect the terms of any agreement between any user of the Services and their employer, their educational institution or any third party. Please make sure that you read the terms of any privacy policies of parties other than Wonksknow, including your employer, prospective employer or educational institution, as those policies may also explain how your personal data is used by those parties. Please review the following privacy policy to understand how the information we collect about you through the Services will be treated. If you have any questions or wish to exercise your rights and choices, please contact us as set out in the “Contact Wonksknow” section. If you are a California resident or data subject in Europe, please see the additional disclosures at the end of this privacy policy. For personal data transferred from the United Kingdom, the European Union, and Switzerland, we will provide appropriate safeguards, such as through the use of standard contractual clauses.

  1. Information Wonksknow collects
  2. You are free to utilize the some of the Services without identifying yourself; however, if you would like to utilize or customize some features of the Services, you must first register with Wonksknow. When you register, we request certain information, including, but not limited to, contact information, such as your name, city and state, phone number, and e-mail address as well as demographic information such as your age, gender or interests. If you sign your child up for the YoungWonks Program or ProWonks Program you will be asked to provide information, including personal information (as that term is defined below) regarding your child as well (such as name, email address, age, address, preferred class times and subjects, school). If you sign up for ProWonks program you will be asked to provide information, including personal information, regarding you (such as name, email address, address, preferred class times, employer information, profession, prior experience). If you use our Vinterview™ product as a candidate seeking a job you will be asked to provide information, including personal information, regarding you (such as name, email address, address, qualifications, previous employer(s) information, profession, prior experience). If you use our Vinterview™ product as an employer you will be asked to provide information, including personal information, regarding you (such as name, email address, address, phone number, company name, company URL, company email address). This information better enables us to provide you with the desired Services, content relevant to your interests and provides us with aggregate data that Wonksknow uses to improve the Services. We may also ask you for information about your system or how you use Wonksknow products and services, and we may collect information through your use of the Service, including your actions taken on the Service and your communications with others through the Service. Please see Section 7, below, for information on how to access or update this information and see Section 9 for information on how we collect and use Student Data and Section 10 for information on how we use Job Applicant (candidate) data.

    Wonksknow automatically collects information about all users collectively, such as what areas users visit most frequently and what services users access most often. Wonksknow automatically collects IP addresses, session sources, device used, browser used and other data which tracks users' access to the Services. We utilize this information for sales and marketing purposes as well as system performance monitoring. We also collect analytics data, or use analytics tools provided by other parties, to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the Service and to understand more about the demographics of our users. These tools collect information sent by your browser or mobile device, including the pages you visit, your use of other parties’ applications, and other information that assists us in analyzing and improving the Services.

    When you access our Services by or through a mobile device, we receive or collect and store unique identification numbers associated with your device or our mobile application (including, for example, a UDID, Unique ID for Advertisers (“IDFA”), Google Ad ID, or Windows Advertising ID), mobile carrier, device type, model and manufacturer, mobile device operating system brand and model, phone number, and, depending on your mobile device settings, your imprecise geographical location data (e.g., location derived from an IP address or data that indicates a city or postal code level), with your permission your precise geographical location data, including GPS coordinates (e.g. latitude and/or longitude) or similar information regarding the location of your mobile device.

    If you or your student participates in the YoungWonks or ProWonks Program’s online classes or other online events, we may use our own screen sharing product called RaiseHand, also known as YoungWonks Cast or may use third party online conference services, called Zoom. RaiseHand privacy policy (located at: https://www.raisehand.com/privacy) will apply to the use of RaiseHand service. Zoom privacy policy (located at: https://zoom.us/privacy) will apply to the use of Zoom service, and we have no control over their terms or privacy practices.

    If your child is attending YoungWonks events such as hackathons, fairs, makers day, etc., you understand that when you enable your child or children to attend these events they will be able to attend video meetings for these events and other attendees of the event will be able to see and hear them. They will also have the ability to upload their audio and video to YoungWonks platform. This is meant for them to be sharing their project explanation with YoungWonks team and other members of the YoungWonks platform. The staff and contractors of WONKSKNOW LLC and its subsidiaries will have access to these uploads. The videos will be accessible to anyone who has an account on the YoungWonks platform.

    Your child/children will also be asked to choose the age category they fall in so that their project(s) can be evaluated and competes with other projects from students in the same age group. In group projects they will be asked to enter age of the senior most member of the team so that project is evaluated and competes with other projects of that age group.

  3. Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
  4. We use cookies, pixel tags, web beacons, mobile device IDs and similar files or technologies to collect and store the information we automatically collect about your computer, device, and service usage.

    Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognizes that cookie. Cookies are widely used in order to make websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the website.

    Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving the user experience. Cookies may tell us, for example, whether you have visited our Services before or whether you are a new visitor. They can also help to ensure that ads you see online are more relevant to you and your interests.

    • First party cookies, served directly by us to your computer or mobile device. We don’t release the information collected from our own cookies to any other parties except our service providers who assist us in providing the Services.
    • Other party cookies, which are served by another party on our behalf. We use these cookies for functionality, performance / analytics, advertising and social media purposes.

    Cookies can remain on your computer or mobile device for different periods of time. Some cookies are 'session cookies', meaning that they exist only while your browser is open. These are deleted automatically once you close your browser. Other cookies are 'persistent cookies', meaning that they survive after your browser is closed. They can be used by websites to recognize your computer when you open your browser and browse the Internet again

    You have the right to choose whether or not to accept cookies and we have explained how you can exercise this right below. However, please note that if you choose to refuse cookies you may not be able to use the full functionality of our services

    Most browsers allow you to change your cookie settings. These settings will typically be found in the “options” or “preferences” menu of your browser. In order to understand these settings, use the “Help” option in your browser.

    Pixels (also known as web beacons), are code embedded in a website, video, email, or advertisement that send information about your use to a server. There are various types of pixels, including image pixels (which are small graphic images) and JavaScript pixels (which contains JavaScript code). When you access a website, video, email, or advertisement that contains a pixel, the pixel may permit us or a separate entity to drop or read cookies on your browser. Pixels are used in combination with cookies to track activity by a particular browser on a particular device. We may incorporate pixels from separate entities that allow us to track our conversions, bring you advertising both on and off the Services, and provide you with additional functionality. App Technologies are technologies included in our apps that are not browser-based like cookies and cannot be controlled by browser settings. For example, our apps may include SDKs, which is code that sends information about your use to a server. These SDKs allow us to track our conversions, bring you advertising off the Services, and provide you with additional functionality.

    Location-Identifying Technologies are technologies used to collect your location. For example, GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth may be used to collect precise location data when you consent to precise location tracking through our apps. Location data may be used for purposes such as verifying your device’s location and delivering or restricting relevant content and advertising based on that location.

    Voice Processing Technologies are technologies used to collect audio through the microphone on your device to effectuate an instruction or request by you. We only maintain audio long enough to complete your instruction or request and then immediately delete it. We may use non-audio data associated with the collection for additional purposes such as data analytics and in accordance with this privacy policy.

  5. Information from Other Sources.
    • We also collect information from other sources. The categories of sources from which we collect information, and have collected from in the past 12 months, include :
    • Data brokers from which we purchase data to supplement the data we collect.
    • Social networks with which you interact.
    • Partners that offer co-branded services, sell or distribute our products, or engage in joint marketing activities.
    • Publicly-available sources, including data in the public domain.

  6. How Wonksknow uses the information it collects
  7. Wonksknow collects information for business and commercial purposes in accordance with the practices described in this privacy policy. Our business purposes for collecting and using information include: to operate, maintain and provide to you the features and functionality of the Services and to communicate directly with you, as well as for purposes such as the provision of customer service and support, billing, network management, customer surveys, performing services requested by you, such as responding to your comments, questions, and requests, sending you technical notices, updates, security alerts, information regarding changes to our policies, and support and administrative messages, preventing and addressing fraud, breach of policies or terms, and threats or harm, monitoring and analysing trends, usage, and activities, improving the Services and other Wonksknow websites, apps, marketing efforts, products and services, developing and sending advertising, direct marketing, and communications about our and other entities’ products, offers, and promotions, rewards, events, and services, conducting promotions, including verifying your eligibility and delivering prizes in connection with your entries.

    Wonksknow makes features available in certain areas of the Services that allow users to share information with other users of the Services. Please exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information to other users.

    The personal information you supply to Wonksknow will not be given, sold, rented, loaned, or otherwise disclosed to any parties outside of Wonksknow and its agents, except as disclosed in this privacy policy, when we have your permission (either directly from you or through your employer or educational institution), or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to (i) comply with legal process, (ii) enforce our policies and the Terms of Use, (iii) respond to claims that any content provided by using the Services violates the rights of third parties, or (iv) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Wonksknow, its users, or the public.

    Wonksknow may use aggregated or deidentified information without restriction except where prohibited by law, including to determine the demographic composition of our user base and to distribute statistics and general marketplace information about Wonksknow. This aggregated or deidentified information does not identify specific users.

    Notwithstanding the above, we may use information that does not identify you (including information that has been aggregated or de-identified) for any purpose except as prohibited by applicable law.

  8. Wonksknow Sharing of Information
  9. We share information we collect in accordance with the practices described in this privacy policy. The reasons for sharing and the categories of parties with whom we share information include the following:

    Certain aggregated or deidentified information regarding users is recorded by the standard operation of the Internet servers hosting the Services. This information is primarily used to provide users of the Services with an enhanced online experience. Wonksknow may disclose aggregated or deidentified user statistics in order to describe the Services to prospective partners and other parties, and for other lawful purposes.

    Some features of the Services may be offered in conjunction with a partner company. In order to provide these features, it may be necessary for either you or us to share your information with this partner company. If you do not want your information to be shared, you can choose not to allow the transfer by not using that particular feature.

    We employ service providers to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include but are not limited to: for storing of data, for storing files, for making searching of information simple, for sending text messages, for providing chat functionality, for sending emails, for processing payments, for analyzing data, for customer support and to support our internal operations. These service providers have access to personal information but are contractually bound to use such information only as needed to perform their functions, and not retain, use, or process it for other purposes, although we may permit them to use information that does not identify you (including information that has been aggregated or de-identified) for any purpose except as prohibited by applicable law.

    We share information with vendors and other parties for analytics and advertising related purposes. These parties may act as our service providers, or in certain contexts, independently decide how to process your information. For more information on advertising and analytics, see the “Analytics and Advertising” section below.

    We share information with our affiliates and related entities, including where they act as our service providers or for their own internal purposes.

    Our promotions may be jointly sponsored or offered by other parties. When you voluntarily enter a promotion, we share information as set out in the official rules that govern the promotion as well as for administrative purposes and as required by law (e.g., on a winners list). By entering a promotion, you agree to the official rules that govern that promotion, and may, except where prohibited by applicable law, allow the sponsor and/or other entities to use your name, voice and/or likeness in advertising or marketing materials.

    We share information you make public through the Services, such as information in your profile or that you post on public boards. Please think carefully before making information public as you are solely responsible for any information you make public. Once you have posted information, you may not be able to edit or delete such information, subject to additional rights set out in the “Your Rights and Choices” section below.

    We share the information we collect to provide enhanced security, such as EdOptim’s 2-factor authentication facility for educational institutions staff (users). The 6-digit security code is sent to the user's email and/or phone number during sign-in. To send this 2-factor authentication code users email address is shared with Zoho for sending the email with security code and users phone number is shared with Twilio for sending the security code by SMS. Zoho privacy policy is located at: https://www.zoho.com/privacy.html and Twilio privacy policy is located at https://www.twilio.com/legal/privacy.

    Wonksknow shares personal information other than Student Data collected through a third party institution, as defined below, with other parties in connection with any company transaction, such as a merger, sale of all or a portion of company assets or shares, reorganization, financing, change of control or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company or third party or in the event of bankruptcy or related or similar proceedings. Wonksknow’s transfer of Student Data collected through a third party institution to a third party in the event of a company transaction is governed by our agreements with our educational institutions and applicable law.

    Integration with Alexa Voice Assistant. We have introduced a new feature that allows you to interact with our services via the Alexa Voice Assistant. This feature enables you to inquire about your child's class schedule, homework status, teacher feedback, and announcements. Please note that by using this feature, you authorize the transmission of this information through Amazon’s Alexa platform. We ensure that all voice data and requests are handled in accordance with our stringent data protection and privacy standards. For more information on how Amazon processes voice data, please refer to Amazon’s Privacy Policy.

    Payment Services. We offer Stripe integration to facilitate your payments. All Stripe, Inc. transactions are subject to the Stripe Privacy Policy available at https://stripe.com/privacy. We do not control Stripe’s use of the data it collects.

    Google reCAPTCHA v2 We use Google’s reCAPTCHA v2 to fight spam and abuse. Your use of reCAPTCHA v2 is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use are available at https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/terms. We do not control Google’s use of the data it collects.

  10. Analytics and Advertising
  11. We use analytics services, such as Google Analytics, to help us understand how users access and use the Services. In addition, we work with agencies, advertisers, ad networks, and other technology services to place ads about our products and services on other websites and services. For example, we place ads through Google and Facebook that you may view on their platforms as well as on other websites and services.

    As part of this process, we may incorporate tracking technologies into our own Services (including our website and emails) as well as into our ads displayed on other websites and services. Some of these tracking technologies may track your activities across time and services for purposes of associating the different devices you use, and delivering relevant ads and/or other content to you (“Interest-based Advertising”).

    We also use audience matching services (which is a type of Interest-based Advertising) to reach people (or people similar to people) who have visited our Services or are identified in one or more of our databases (“Matched Ads”). This is done by us providing a list of hashed email addresses to an ad partner or incorporating a pixel from an ad partner into our own Services, and the ad partner matching common factors between our data and their data. For instance, we incorporate the Facebook pixel on our Services and may share your email address with Facebook as part of our use of Facebook Custom Audiences.

    As indicated above, vendors and other parties may act as our service providers, or in certain contexts, independently decide how to process your information. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with and consult their privacy policies and terms of use.

    For further information on the types of tracking technologies we use on the Service and your rights and choices regarding analytics, Interest-based Advertising, and Matched Ads, please see the “Cookies and other Tracking Technologies” and “Your Rights and Choices” sections.

  12. Your Rights and Choices
  13. Emails: Users may opt out of receiving future promotional electronic mailings from Wonksknow at any time by following the unsubscribe procedures indicated in the mailing. Individual end users of Wonksknow software should contact their educational institution or other organization hosting the software for questions about access to the information collected by that institution. Please contact us at the address below if you have other questions about the information you receive from us or the information that we collect from you.

    Access to your information: Wonksknow offers users the ability to correct or change the information collected during registration. Users may change this information at any time and as often as necessary by choosing the "edit personal information" option or other similar functionality offered in the Services. To access or change your personal information, log in to your account through the Services. For data not available through such an account, please contact us at the address listed below.

    Do Not Track: Your browser settings may allow you to automatically transmit a “Do Not Track” signal to online services you visit. Note, however, there is no industry consensus as to what site and app operators should do with regard to these signals. Accordingly, unless and until the law is interpreted to require us to do so, we do not monitor or take action with respect to “Do Not Track” signals. For more information on “Do Not Track,” visit http://www.allaboutdnt.com.

    App and Location Technologies: You can stop all collection of information via an app by uninstalling the app. You can also reset your device Ad Id at any time through your device settings, which is designed to allow you to limit the use of information collected about you. You can stop all collection of precise location data through an app by uninstalling the app or withdrawing your consent through your device settings. Please be aware that if you disable or remove tracking technologies some parts of the Services may not function correctly.

    Analytics and Interest-Based Advertising: Google provides tools to allow you to opt out of the use of certain information collected by Google Analytics at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout and by Google Analytics for Display Advertising or the Google Display Network at https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

    The companies we work with to provide you with targeted ads are required by us to give you the choice to opt out of receiving targeted ads. Most of these companies are participants of the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) and/or the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”). To learn more about the targeted ads provided by these companies, and how to opt out of receiving certain targeted ads from them, please visit: (i) for website targeted ads from DAA participants, https://www.aboutads.info/choices; (ii) for app targeted ads from DAA participants, https://www.aboutads.info/appchoices; and (iii) for targeted ads from NAI participants, https://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/. Opting out only means that the selected participants should no longer deliver certain targeted ads to you, but does not mean you will no longer receive any targeted content and/or ads (e.g., in connection with the participants’ other customers or from other technology services).

    To opt out of us using your data for Matched Ads, please contact us as set forth in the “Wonksknow Contact” section below and specify that you wish to opt out of matched ads. We will request that the applicable party not serve you matched ads based on information we provide to it. Alternatively, you may directly contact the applicable party to opt out.

    You may also limit our use of information collected from or about your mobile device for purposes of serving targeted ads to you by going to your device settings and selecting “Limit Ad Tracking” (for iOS devices) or “Opt out of Interest-Based Ads” (for Android devices). Please note that if you opt out using any of these methods, the opt out will only apply to the specific browser or device from which you opt out. We are not responsible for the effectiveness of, or compliance with, any opt out options or programs, or the accuracy of any other entities’ statements regarding their opt out options or programs.

    Push Notifications: If you have opted-in to receive push notifications on your device, you can opt-out at any time by adjusting the permissions in your device or uninstalling our app.

    Text Messages and Calls: You authorize Wonksknow LLC to send you one-time verification codes, SMS text reminders and calls about your or your children’s scheduled class(es). You also understand that message/data rates may apply to messages and that you may opt out of receiving SMS text messages or calls at any time by (i) for text messages, texting “STOP” in response to any text message you receive from us or contacting us as set out in the “Wonksknow Contact” section below and specifying you want to opt-out of text messages; and (ii) for calls, requesting opt-out during any call you receive from us or contacting us as set out in the “Wonksknow Contact” section below and specifying you want to opt-out of calls.

    Please note that your opt out is limited to the email address, device, and phone number used and will not affect subsequent subscriptions.

  14. Security and International Transfers
  15. Wonksknow maintains reasonable administrative, technical and physical procedures to protect information stored in our servers, which are located in the United States and in other jurisdictions in which Wonksknow, its subsidiaries and affiliates maintain facilities. Security safeguards may include but are not limited to data encryption, firewalls, data use and access limitations, and physical access controls to buildings. Nevertheless, transmission via the internet is not completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of information about you. If you have questions about such security, please contact us at the address listed below.

    If you are accessing the Services from outside of the U.S., as mentioned above the information collected through the Services is transferred to, processed, stored, and used in the U.S. and other jurisdictions. Data protection laws in the U.S. and other jurisdictions may be different from those of your country of residence. Your use of the Services or provision of any information therefore constitutes your consent to the transfer to and from, processing, usage, sharing, and storage of information about you in the U.S. and other jurisdictions as set out in this privacy policy. For personal data transferred from the European Union, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we will provide appropriate safeguards, such as through use of standard contractual clauses.

  16. Student data collected online during the course of providing services to educational institutions
    1. Student Data collected through the YoungWonks and ProWonks Program. The YoungWonks Program and ProWonks Program, owned and operated by us, allows students to participate in in-person and/or online classes, if a parent or guardian or student has signed up for the YoungWonks or ProWonks Program. Except for a free trial class which we may offer in our discretion, all classes require payment and authorization from a parent or guardian of the student. A parent or guardian is required to attend any free trial class with the student, regardless of whether the free trial class is online or in-person at our school.

      Through our YoungWonks and ProWonks Programs, we collect personal information about you and/or your student (“Student Data”) when you choose to provide it to us. For example, we collect information from you so you and your student can use Services such as the parent or student portal and apps as part of in-person or online classes, purchase products and services, register for and obtain an account for you and your student, request information, register for one of our programs, or verify your age. In general, we ask you to provide us with the following types of information about you and your student:

      • You and your student’s contact Information such as name, email address, mailing address, phone numbers;
      • Your student’s age;
      • Month, day, and year of birth;
      • Your student’s school name;
      • Your student’s month, day, and year of birth;
      • Your student’s gender;
      • Your student’s course interests;
      • Your student’s prior computer science or coding experience;
      • Your billing information such as credit card number, and billing address;
      • Information your student provided on forums or chat rooms within our Services (note to parents/guardians of children, forums and chat rooms permit a child user to enter comments through which the child could provide personal information that would be visible to other users);
      • Information included in resumes and job applications.

      We use this information regarding your student to provide the Services that you have signed up for and to communicate with you and/or your student such as to confirm enrollment, provide reminders for upcoming classes, provide homework assignments and feedback, manage class scheduling, billing, and online class participation.

      As stated above, if you or your student participates in the YoungWonks or ProWonks Program’s online classes, you understand that we use a third party online conference services, called RaiseHand and Zoom. RaiseHand privacy policy (located at: https://www.raisehand.com/privacy) will apply to the use of RaiseHand service, and we have no control over their terms or privacy practices. Zoom privacy policy (located at: https://zoom.us/privacy) will apply to the use of Zoom service, and we have no control over their terms or privacy practices. By participating in our online classes as part of the YoungWonks Program, you consent to these terms.

      Note to Parents/Guardians: We only collect the information described above, from someone we know to be a child, after the child's parent or guardian provides us with verifiable consent, unless one of the limited exceptions discussed below applies. For more information and/or to review these limited exceptions, please see the "Children’s Privacy" section below.

    2. Student Data Collected through Schools and Other Educational Institutions. Wonksknow provides Services to schools and other educational institutions to facilitate communications and sharing of information within the educational environment. Through the provision of these Services, Wonksknow collects personal information from or about students (“Student Data”) at the direction of and on behalf of the educational institution with which the student is affiliated. We consider such Student Data to be strictly confidential and in general do not use such data for any purpose other than improving and providing our Services to the school or on the school’s behalf. Our collection, use, and sharing of Student Data is governed by our contracts with the educational institutions and state, federal, and international laws as applicable, but not by the provisions contained in this privacy policy. If you have any questions about reviewing, modifying, or deleting personal information of a student, please contact your educational institution directly.

    Wonksknow provides Services to schools and other educational institutions to facilitate communications and sharing of information within the educational environment. Through the provision of these Services, Wonksknow collects personally identifiable information from or about students (“Student Data”) at the direction of and on behalf of the educational institution with which the student is affiliated. We consider such Student Data to be strictly confidential and in general do not use such data for any purpose other than improving and providing our Services to the school or on the school’s behalf. Our collection, use and sharing of Student Data is governed by our contracts with the educational institutions and state, federal, and international laws as applicable, but not by the provisions contained in this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions about reviewing, modifying, or deleting personal information of a student, please contact your educational institution directly.

  17. Job Applicant data collected online during the course of providing Vinterview services to employers.
    1. Job Applicant Data collected through the new employee hiring process by WONKSKNOW LLC and its subsidiary WONKSKNOW TECHNOLOGIES INDIA PVT LTD.

      Through our Vinterview program, we collect personal information about you when you choose to provide it to us. For example, we collect information from you so you as part of you creating a Vinterveiw candidate profile or by taking a text or video interview. In general, we may ask you to provide us with the following types of information about you:

      • Contact Information such as name, email address, mailing address, phone numbers;
      • Month, day, and year of birth;
      • School name;
      • Gender;
      • Qualifications;
      • Prior experience;
      • Information included in resumes and job applications.
      • Video and audio clips containing your video and audio answers to interview questions.
      • Written responses to interview questions.

      We use this information regarding to provide the online interview services and to consider you as a candidate for an open position or future positions.

    2. Applicant Data collected through other employers.
    3. Wonksknow provides Services to companies (employers) to facilitate employee recruitment. Through the provision of these Services, Wonksknow collects Job Applicant Data that is personal information from or about Job Applicants at the direction of and on behalf of the other company (employer) that the job applicant is applying or has applied for a job at. We consider such Job Applicant data to be strictly confidential and in general do not use such data for any purpose other than improving our Services and providing our Services to the employer or on the employer’s behalf. Our collection, use, and sharing of Job Applicant Data is governed by our contracts with the employers and state, federal, and international laws as applicable, but not by the provisions contained in this privacy policy. If you have any questions about reviewing, modifying, or deleting personal information of Job Applicant, please contact the employer directly.

  18. Children’s privacy
    1. In General. Wonksknow does not knowingly collect any personal information (as that term is defined under the (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act” or “COPPA”) from children unless and until, as applicable according to the service or product, a parent, guardian or other authorized adult, or a school or educational institution has provided appropriate consent and authorization for a child to use the Services and for Wonksknow to collect personal information from such child, unless an exception permitted by law applies. Please contact us at privacy@wonksknow.com if you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without proper consents so that we may delete such information in accordance with COPPA.

    2. YoungWonks Program. The YoungWonks Service is available to students starting at age 7 with parent/guardian consent. As stated above, we do not knowingly permit anyone under 13 years of age to provide us with personal information without obtaining a parent's or guardian’s verifiable consent, except where:
      • the sole purpose of collecting the name or online contact information of a parent or child is to provide notice and obtain parental consent;
      • the purpose of collecting a parent’s online contact information is to provide voluntary notice to, and subsequently update the parent about, the child’s participation in our Services that do not otherwise collect, use, or disclose children’s personal information;
      • the sole purpose of collecting online contact information from a child is to respond directly on a one-time basis to a specific request from the child, and where such information is not used to re-contact the child or for any other purpose, is not disclosed, and is deleted by us promptly after responding to the child’s request;
      • the purpose of collecting a child’s and a parent’s online contact information is to respond directly more than once to the child’s specific request, and where such information is not used for any other purpose, disclosed, or combined with any other information collected from the child;
      • the purpose of collecting a child’s and a parent’s name and online contact information, is to protect the safety of a child, and where such information is not used or disclosed for any purpose unrelated to the child’s safety;
      • we collect a persistent identifier and no other personal information and such identifier is used for the sole purpose of providing support for the internal operations of our Services; or
      • Otherwise permitted or required by law.

      If we receive the verifiable consent of a child's parent or guardian to collect, use and/or disclose the child's information, we will only collect, use and disclose the information as described in this privacy policy. Some features of our Services permit a child user to enter comments, such as forums and chat rooms, through which the child could provide personal information that would be visible to other users. If you are the parent or guardian of a child user, please advise your child of the risks of posting personal information on our Services or any other site.

    3. Parental/Guardian Rights
    4. If you are a parent or guardian, you can review or have deleted your child's personal information, and refuse to permit further collection or use of your child's information. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us as provided in the “Contact Wonksknow” section below.

    5. Forums and Chats
    6. We may offer forums and chat rooms that enable children participating in the YoungWonks Program or ProWonks Program to communicate with others on or through our Services. Please be aware that anyone may read postings on a forum or in a chat room. Furthermore, any information which is posted to a forum or chat room could include personal information, which would be disclosed and available to all users of that forum or chat room, and is therefore no longer private. We do not control the types of information your child can send or post through these features. We encourage parents to educate their children about safety online and carefully monitor their children’s use of social features. We cannot guarantee the security of information that any user discloses or communicates online in public areas such as forums and chat rooms. Those who do so, do so at their own risk. We reserve the right to monitor the content of the forums and chat rooms but we are not obligated to do so. If age inappropriate content or potentially identifiable information is seen, it may be removed or edited by us for security, privacy and/or legal reasons. We will not republish postings from forums or chat rooms anywhere on the Web.

      We do not knowingly “sell,” as that term is defined under the CCPA, the personal information of minors under 16 years old who are California residents. If you are a California resident under 18 years old and registered to use the Services, you can ask us to remove any content or information you have posted on the Services. To make a request, email us at the email address set out in “Wonksknow Contact” section with “California Under 18 Content Removal Request” in the subject line, and tell us what you want removed. We will make reasonable good faith efforts to remove the post from prospective public view, although we cannot ensure the complete or comprehensive removal of the content and may retain the content as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

    7. Third Party Social Features and Links.
    8. Our Services, including our YoungWonks parent app and portal, may contain links to other websites, chat rooms, or other resources that we provide for your convenience but that are not owned or operated by us. These sites are not under our control, and we are not responsible for the content available on other sites. Such links do not imply any endorsement of material on our part and we expressly disclaim all liability with regard to your access to such sites. Access to any other websites linked to from the Services is at your own risk. For example, the YoungWonks parent app provides links to Facebook, Yelp and Google review pages so that parents can easily post reviews. Parents or guardians may also use links that we provide in the YoungWonks parent app to conveniently post photos of their children on their Facebook or other social media accounts. We may offer our content through social media. Any information you provide to us when you engage with our content (such as through our brand page) is treated in accordance with this privacy policy. Also, if you publicly reference our Services on social media (e.g., by using a hashtag associated with Wonksknow in a tweet or post), we may use your reference on or in connection with our Services.

      When you interact with these other sites, products and services they may independently collect information about you and solicit information from you. The information collected and stored by those parties remains subject to their separate and independent privacy policies. You should consult the respective privacy policies of these parties. We have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of linked sites, products or services.

  19. Wonksknow privacy policy changes

If Wonksknow changes this privacy policy, we will post those changes at www.edoptim.com/privacy, so that you will always know what information we collect, how we use that information, and how we will disclose it to others. By using the Services, you signify your assent to the Wonksknow Privacy Policy then posted. If you do not agree to this privacy policy, please do not use the Services. Your continued use of the Services following the posting of changes to this privacy policy will mean you accept those changes.

    Notwithstanding the foregoing, however, with respect to Student Data, as discussed in Section 9, above, our data privacy practices are governed by our agreements with educational institutions and applicable law. Accordingly, any changes in our data handling practices involving Student Data would have to be in accordance with our agreements with educational institutions and applicable law.

Pursuant to California Civil Code Section 1798.83, if you are a California resident, you have the right to request information about how we share certain categories of personal information with third parties. California law gives you the right to send us a request to receive the following information: (i) the categories of information we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year; (ii) the names and addresses of the third parties that received that information; and (iii) if the nature of the third party's business cannot be determined from their name, examples of the products or services marketed. If Student Data about you has been processed by us as a service provider on behalf of a school and other educational institution and you wish to exercise any rights you have with such Student Data, please inquire with the school or other educational institution directly. If you wish to make your request directly to us, please provide the name of the school or other educational institution on whose behalf we processed your Student Data. We will refer your request to that school or other educational institution, and will support them to the extent required by applicable law in responding to your request.

    5. Right to Opt-Out.
    6. We do not generally sell information as the term “sell” is traditionally understood, however, some of our activities as set out in the Analytics and Advertising” section above are considered a “sale” under the CCPA. To the extent Wonksknow sells your personal information as the term “sell” is defined under the CCPA, you have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information by us to third parties at any time.   25. Additional Disclosures for Data Subjects in Europe.
    1. Roles.
    2. Data protection laws in Europe distinguish between organizations that process personal data for their own purposes (known as “controllers”) and organizations that process personal data on behalf of other organizations (known as “processors”). Wonksknow acts as a controller with respect to personal data collected as you interact with our websites, emails, and advertisements. In some instances, Wonksknow acts a processor on behalf of a school or other educational institution, which is the controller. Any questions that you have relating to the processing of personal data by Wonksknow as a processor should be directed to the relevant school or educational institution.

    3. Lawful Basis for Processing.
    4. Data protection laws in Europe require a “lawful basis” for processing personal data. Our lawful bases include where: (a) you have given consent to the processing for one or more specific purposes, either to us or to our service providers, partners, or clients; (b) processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with you; (c) processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation; or (d) processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us or a third party, and your interests and fundamental rights and freedoms do not override those interests.
